This time-limited 12-week group is for men ready to expand their therapy
to working in the company of other men with similar histories. It will
provide both the safety and the opportunity to redress the secrecy and
shame of sexual victimization, and to appreciate the particular strengths survivors develop.
Concurrent individual therapy is
required, and participants must have at least 6 months of
prior individual therapy focused on the experience and
effects of their sexual abuse, as a basis for
continuing to address and heal from:
- difficulties with trust and
intimacy
- difficulties with anger
- relationship failures
- sexual difficulties
- shame and inappropriate guilt
- injuries to gender identity
- stigma and social alienation
- self-defeating behaviors
